Thank You Pastor Anthony Payton
by: Tomorrow Butler

Pastor Anthony Payton
Of all the years as a member of CAYACC, I never told you how much I appreciate you and your wife ?Momma? Sandy. I was asked to share a word or two. I thought to myself I could write a book as a few words was not enough to say thank you. A friend encouraged me to visit the church website about a pastor named Anthony Payton. While viewing the website I noticed a picture of my childhood spiritual father, Minister Virgil Griffin. I decided to visit CAYACC in search of Minister Griffin, but he was not there! I was angry and disappointed my thoughts were what this man Pastor Anthony Payton can teach me that I don?t already know. See I?ve been molested, abused, mistreated, and was heartbroken by many who have crossed my path. Pastor Payton your voice that teaches God?s words has taught me to seek a relationship with my father. Your heart has taught me to fall in love with God?s word, love myself and others. Your hands that stretch out taught me to not only pray for myself but for others. Your eyes that shed tears had taught me it's ok to cry. Your ear listening to care has taught me to sit quietly and listen to God?s voice. Your rightness mind has taught me to forgive and be cautious. Your smile has taught me to laugh. Your dedication and commitment has taught me give back and not be afraid to step out of the box. Your patience has taught me to trust God. Your honesty has taught me nobody is perfect. Your lovely wife has taught me the beauty of a great woman of God. Every time you say ?roll with me? or ?watch this? I?m so eager to hear what's next for God couldn?t have picked a better man to teach me a thing or two. I am no longer angry but thankful that God has placed you in my life at the right time. I shall praise the Lord and give God the glory for all He has done for me. I am so proud to say Thank You for being my Pastor, and friend.

Wow 14 years
by: Nicole Walker

Wow 14 years, I really doesn't seem that long. Then I look at my William and I remember when I came to Come As You are. The year I had him my mother told me that your were pastoring and she wanted me to come over. I said wow mom didn't he go to old True Love? She said yes.

Why the Caged Bird Sings. Sticks with me to this day. You don't know that was during a time when I needed to hear that message. My first born son was a trail during those years. TeRon will be 25 this year. I have had the joy of seeing your kids grow in different stages in their lives.

Pastor you are everything I wish I had in my father, but never did. I praise God for you and your family and the example you all have shared with us in the area of our love walk with Christ and with people. Your all a real treasure to me and my family. Countless times Mama Sandy has stepped in and been right there with me helping me praying for me. I could never thank you both enough.

I was asked to tell you and Mama Sandy from Johnnie Hey. He is doing well and sends much love.

Thy Good and Faithful Servant
by: Minister Curtis & Rhonda Rayford

I praise God for your 14th year, I feel I've lost out only being at CAYACC for a year and 9 months. But God is ever so perfect in His timing, for such a time as this.

Since being at the church I have one thing that I tell everyone, "He Teaches The Truth, He doesn't waiver for anyone or anything." For that I thank you and appreciate you. I have learned more about the Word in this time then all the time I've been attending church, Its A Teaching Church.

As for marriages, He stands on the Word and no matter how impossible it seems He gets in and fights with us. He doesn't shove us aside because he doesn't have the time, but he makes the time.
Thank You Pastor for your time. I know your time is valuable and I thank you sharing some with me and my husband.

A Father, I lost my father and I can say I can look at my Pastor for advice as a father and he has no problem telling it like it is. Thank you for not just telling us what we want to hear but what we need to hear to grow and become better wives, women and most importantly better at following Christ.

I Thank You Pastor for your love, prayers and support. I am PROUD To Call YOU My Pastor.
When we stand and give testimony, know that you will be apart of that.

I don't feel I could ever thank you enough.

God Bless You and Your Family.
I love you guys so much...

know what God's people
should do
Trail Blazer - through the word of God
takes us to dimensions we
have never traveled before!

Today, Tony and I would like to celebrate you, our GIANT of a pastor! We would not be the man and woman of God that we are if it had not been for you!

My Trainer and Instructor
by: Min Joy Smith

Pastor Payton
I just want to take the time to give Honour To Whom Honour Is Due.

As I look for words to express about my Pastor
What comes to me is a "TRAINER AND A TRAINING CAMP"

I have had the privilege to Be a Dependent Wife In The Military for 15yrs. You always hear the NEGATIVE about BOOT CAMP and the DRILL INSTRUCTOR But does anyone ever look at the WHAT IS PRODUCED and why the Training is so rigorous and the Drill Instructor Is so"LIKE A PIT BULL?" Well u have to consider what their job is to get u ready for "WAR" AND TO TRAIN U 2B an expert equipped in fighting the enemy. Well my pastor is my trainer and instructor. He has been chosen to prepare me for WAR and To be equipped to fight the enemy. I know now that my intensive training and through much prayer I am a well equipped now and ready for battle.

Pastor thank you for seeing me As God Sees me and for laboring with me. Let me not forget to say I FAILED camp and training several times BUT I MADE IT!!

Pastor and 1st Lady I will continue your Legacy in training and equipping others and you will always have a Special Place In My Heart.

KNOW That "Your Labor Is Not In Vain"

'God's Man"
by: Rev. Dr. Junius & Elaine Pressey

We are giving praise to God for His design for protecting His people. One of the weapons for our defense is the office of Pastor. God gave pastors for giving His people direction and a daily diet of the Word. Rev Anthony Payton, Pastor/Teacher has been true to his calling as a pastor/teacher, visionary, leader, and a lifter of others.

Elaine and I congratulate you for the fourteen years that God has allowed you to serve in the Fort Wayne area. We pray that God will continue to keep His hand on your life and plans, for His hand is the assurance that nothing will be able to annul His purpose for your life.

Shalom, shalom.

"Still I Rise"
by: Velda and Steven Davidson

Is there anyone out there who has ever been Broken and did not know that they could be put back together again? I became a part of Come As You Are, Broken and in pieces.

There is an old Mother Goose rhyme about......... Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall...................... Humpty Dumpty had a great Fall................... All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again.

I was broken. My husband, My children not even My mother could put me back together again. I had an opportunity to visit this church over three years ago. I was fascinated by the Word of God being taught by non other than Pastor Anthony Payton. I remember him saying.......don't sit there any longer you can be put back together again. Tomorrow is not promised to you and do not leave here knowing you are not connected to God.

The Word of God is Powerful and Sharper than any two-edge sword. The Man Teaches the Word of God and it(God's Word) will make you rise up get out of your pity party and be put back together again.
When he opens his home to you and and your family to help fight drug abuse in your family. He counsels and teaches the Word of God, so you can get up and move forward.

We cannot blame him if we do not get it right, because Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. He teaches and we must make the right choice. Pastor Payton is teaching the Word.

I salute him and The God of heaven and earth in his life for doing exactly what God has called him to do. Teach.

God bless you for 14 years and I am sure He will continue to bless you has you move forward on this journey.

Blessings...........
Faithfully submitted:
Minister Velda R. Davidson

A Man of the Word
by: Bonita Adams

There is a lot I could say about my Pastor. I thank God for his surrender to the call. I've watched him work with patience, love, compassion, but most of all the unadulterated Word of God. No one preaches or teaches like he does. He not only preaches and teaches the Word, but he lives the Word. He is also touchable. He doesn't mind telling others that he's not perfect and that as he's preaching he lets us known that God is speaking to him as well. I am where I am today because he has brought the Word of God forward in a way we can put it into action. I pray that God continues to strengthen him and give him wisdom for the blessed days ahead.

Visionary
by: Pecola

My Pastor is Anthony Payton, of Come As You Are Community Church. He is a visionary.. He has the drive and enthusiasm to take his congregation to the next level..I believe, that because of the way he teaches us God's word, our Church is a Beacon of Light to the Community..He is Trustworthy, Honorable, Noble and Respected.. not only with the congregation, but with his family.. you see I observed his wife and how she Honors him, for an unhappy wife will soon reveal how unhappy she is with her husband, and (not always intentionally),this lets me know that he's an upright man before God and His people..

Thank You Pastor

Father, Friend, and Leader
by: Denita Washington

I would have to say that Pastor Payton is a pastor who hungers to see us all reach are full potential. He has been a father, friend and powerful leader! He has shown us how to lead while he himself was bleeding, publicly and privately. In spite all that he has endured he allows every test from the devil to evolve in to a testimony from GOD.I also value that he shows us how to publicly love our husbands and wives as God loves us unconditionally! He walks the talk which forces us as a congregation in all that we do, to push to live a life of excellence by following, studying, loving and daily feeding ourselves and others through the word of God.He truly models the quote " To whom much is given much is required" as he works relentlessly on projects that provide experience and exposure for us that most would never have.

I appreciate his community vision not just for CAYACC(Come As You Are Community Church) but for Fort Wayne and abroad. God truly sent us an angel from the heavens when he sent us Pastor Payton and to God be the Glory!

We love you Pastor Payton because you always love us even when were not lovable!

Peace & Blessings
Denita Washington

So Many Reasons
by: Pam Messman

I value Pastor Payton for so many reasons. Here are just a few. First and foremost, He teaches the Word of God, being led by the Holy Spirit, in such a way that you can receive it no matter where you are in your spiritual journey. He is very easy to talk to, and will address any concerns that you may have, personal or relating to the church as a whole. When I ask him to pray for me, I know He does, it isn't just lip-service. He honors his wife and family at all times. He is real, not pretentious, what you see is who he is. I am thankful for his faithfulness to Come As You Are Community Church for the last 14 years, and I pray that God will bless him with many more years with us.

Proud of My Pastor
by: Rita Winborn

I am really proud of my pastor. I know God has brought him and his wife a long ways. Pastor Payton is a good man, husband and father and is a giving person. I know if I go to him with any type of problem he will be able to help me. I am so grateful that God sent him and his wife my way. I love them both. God has something mighty powerful for him. God gave pastor a vision to reach out and save souls, help families get back together, and mend a broken hearts. I know this because I am part of his flock. Pastor always tells us if God can save me he can save you, just trust in God.

A Heart for God's Word
by: Sandra Payton

Pastor Payton has a heart for teaching God's word so that people will embrace it at whatever level they are! His unique style of teaching puts the practical application of God's word on the "bottom shelf" so that the little people to the seniors can grab it and run with it in their lives.

He is a generous giver! He shares his wisdom experience, talent, time, and treasure!

He's not only my Pastor but my husband, lover, friend, father, and grandfather!

I love you, honey!
