What's the Difference Between Pastor Anniversary and Pastor Appreciation

by Tasha
(Charlotte, NC)

I am wondering what is the difference between the two? How should we celebrate them differently? I do understand that you celebrate the anniversary when that Pastor came in but you pretty much do the same for both occasions. I just want a break down of what you do different for both.

ANSWER: The difference is really what your church decides to make it. For me, I think that Pastor Appreciation is a time to focus on your pastor and his family. Whereas a Pastor's Anniversary is a good time to emphasize what God has and is doing in your entire church. The anniversary is a good annual point to look back at the blessings of the past year and to look forward to what God has in store for your next near. That's what I was trying to say on this Pastor Anniversary page.
