Becky thanx for the gospel of music
by: Sean simmons

I don't remember Dr. Becky Carlton. But I do remember Becky when she was at gospel temple in New york City as a force to be reckoned with. When I first enter Gospel Temple I was awestruck by the sound that was emanating from the sanctuary before I even reached it". When I realized it was a young woman producing these jazzy sounds with syncopated rhythms with both hands a d both feet, I knew that there was truly a God and he was working through this young and so talented girl named Becky Carlton. I can't tell you how much I will miss her and her organ playing and musical blessed talents. Gospel music will never reign in that voice again as Becky gave voice and definition to it. She was by far the best and truly the queen of the Hammond Organ.

I know Becky Carlton, from 45 years ago at Gospel Temple where Bishop B.H. Broadie, was the pastor. Friday night broadcast Becky would play the organ Bishop would preach and the saints would shout until times got better. Becky, had a wonderful spirit and will be greatly missed.

I love you and God has really got an angel up there that can play, sing and worship....
